I believe that the Japanese are definitely leading the robot race. Instead of an i-Robot version from the United States, I presume that they are creating a J-Robot with a Japanese logo at the bottom.
Nevertheless, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd and Sumitomo Corporation in Osaka City in Japan have been using this R2D2-like robot to clean their floor. It comes with laser sensors to help detect and avoid obstacles.
What’s even more impressive is that it can even ride elevators and get off on the right floors.
Nevertheless, I’m trying to understand the practicability of this device since it would cost so much to develop one and maintain it as well – why don’t they just hire a janitor instead?

Forget those lousy 3-cell netbooks – Lenovo has in fact released their 6-cell version of the S10 netbook into the market. I’m pretty sure a 3-cell battery would not meet a power user’s computing demand as normally it would get drained within a couple of hours.
Well, the 6-cell netbook would be released in Germany with a fairly reasonable price of €329 (or roughly $425).
